(Luoyang Tripod) Antique-style Metal Ornament, Decorative Item, Bronze Statue
Details
Three thousand years ago, Duke of Zhou set up Luoyang and established his rule in the Central Plains. This square ding with a beast-face pattern is a perfect miniature of the ritual vessels from Western Zhou’s Luoyi.
A ding was a highly important national vessel, used by the ancients for ancestral temple sacrifices to communicate with heaven, earth, and ancestors. The body features a relief of a majestic beast face, with expressive eyes and raised ox horns, symbolizing the ancient people's reverence for nature and prayers for safety, giving it a powerful and solemn fierce beauty.
The original was unearthed from a Western Zhou noble tomb at the northern kiln of Luoyang, witnessing the legendary history of “establishing the ding in Luoyi,” and serves as a token of Chinese ritual civilization. This replica restores the shape of the ancient ding, with a rustic greenish patina, upright handles, and sturdy four feet.
This piece is a 1:1 museum-grade intangible cultural heritage replica, purely an art craft collectible, legally collectable and tradable.
